Notes from talk with Andrei Smolyakov, 0850h, 3 Oct 96: - GB Data Handling team excited at meeting yesterday; - Better to let students on science team work on specific topics for now, and come back to science (to write to of Part 1) later; - Danger of students getting so involved with hardware and narrow issues that they lose sight of larger issues (happens to nearly every grad. student in department, as evidenced at thesis defences) - Students should / must draw heavily on Ted for 'perspective' part of Part 1, but must understand and write it up themselves; - Would be useful to divide 'ozone science' logically and have 1-3 grad. students review and write up separate parts, rather than overlapping or duplicating each others' work;
