@TTMAIND You have four options at this time: 1) Sense Tape Device This function performs a scan looking for any attached tape devices. 2) Run Test This function performs a quick destructive test to ensure that the tape device is properly connected to the controller and working. You MUST select the "Sense Tape Device" option before attempting to use this option. 3) F2=Rewind This function will rewind the tape in the device that is currently selected. You MUST select the "Sense Tape Device" option before attempting to rewind the tape. 4) F3=Retension This function will retension the tape in the device that is currently selected. Retensioning a DAT tape is not normally necessary, however, it is recommended that a quarter inch (QIC) tape be retensioned periodicaly and especially if the tape has not been used for an extended period of time. This process may take a while, and you can not break out of it once the process has been started. The # of Blocks that the test writes is set according to the tape device. This number can be altered by changing the default value. WARNING - THIS TEST WILL OVERWRITE ANY DATA THAT YOU MAY HAVE ON THE TAPE! Press F10 once you exit this screen to start the test. Then just follow the instructions given on the screen. @TTOWRITE1 Overwrite Prompt Running this test WILL DESTROY any data on the tape in the drive. To start the test, type "run test" and press enter. To quit, press ESC. @TTOWRITE2 There is Data on This Tape! The tape in the drive is NOT blank! This is your last chance to quit!
