Research Systems develops and markets software tools that help scientists

the power to easily analyze, visualize, and interpret their results.

Research Systems' Background.
Privately held since its founding in 1977, Research Systems currently
employs over 50 people.  Well-managed growth has generated steady,
continuous profitability - a significant achievement in the volatile
software industry. Realizing that scientists and engineers were burdened
with rewriting applications for each new project, Research Systems was the
first to deliver in the late 1970s an integrated numerical analysis and
data visualization software environment.  With heterogeneous network
environments increasingly common, Research Systems now develops and
maintains a true multi-platform GUI toolkit, ensuring easy portability of
application and interface code across popular platforms.  Using IDL, the
company's flagship software, developers can write code once and quickly
port it to Motif, Windows(R), Windows NT, Macintosh(R), or Power Macintosh
systems.   Research Systems has a long history of successfully supporting
large-scale, internally-distributed and commercial applications within
Space/Research, Medical Imaging, Earth Sciences, and Test Engineering.
